Tokumei Sentai Go-Buster Review

ImagePlot: It’s the year 2012 and it’s a post apocalyptic future. Everything we hold dearly runs on enertron. The Vaglass Empire threatens our very way of existence. But the Go-Busters are here to make sure the vaglass don’t do that.

Opinion:: While this season received a lot of backlash from hardcore Power Rangers fans, I think it’s quite good. Though there are a few problems as I will discuss in the pros and cons

Pros and Cons

+ The Buddyroids: The Buddyroids are some of the most well thought out comic relief in Sentai History. Not only that, they prove to be quite useful.

X The Change in theme – Nothing was wrong with the one by Hideyuki Takahashi. There was no rhyme or reason for it

+ Enter: They don’t make Sentai villains quite like they used to but Enter is one sick bastard. Bending everyone around him to his whims

X The incosistency of tone: I’m not talking episode to episode here. I’m talking scene to scene.

+ The Movie: I think the movie added a really effective buddyroid to the team’s arsenal.

X Wiping Escape’s memory. Spoiler Alert: Later on in the show Enter finds a way to hack the main bad guy and bends escape to his will. This would be a good thing but Enter brainwashes her and it’s kind of boring

Final Score: 3.5 out of 4

Bottom Line: This is a good sentai but it’s not for everyone. If you can look past the power rangers references you should be fine
